How do I register for the symposium?

Eventbrite will be the primary registration service being used. Check the registration page for specific details and a link to the event site when registration starts getting closer.

Where is Penn State?

Penn State University is located in the city of State College in rural central  Pennsylvania. This years symposium will take place just a few short minutes from campus at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference center. Feel free to use the map below to navigate though various locations and landmarks on and around our campus.

What will the weather be like during the symposium?

What should I wear to the labs?

Long pants and closed toed shoes. For labs at the barns, rubber boots are recommended.

What should I wear to lectures?

The dress code for lectures is casual. In previous years, many students have worn the symposium shirt provided to attendees or a shirt representing their school or club and jeans. 

What will transportation be like during the symposium?

What is the adresses for the hotel, lectures, and labs?

The 2019 APVMA Symposium will be help at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center, which is located just a short distance from campus. The address for the Penn Stater is 215 Innovation Blvd, State College, PA 16803.

What is a pre-vet symposium?

A pre-vet symposium is a conference for pre-veterinary students to come together to hear from various speakers and participate in wet labs.

I have a dietary restriction, who should I notify?

We are using Eventbrite as our registration service, so all of your food/dietary needs will be met. Once registration is over, the food committee will look at all of the food/dietary accommodations listed from the registration forms and make sure with our event planner your needs will be met! We hope to have many options for you to choose from!

When does registration open, how much is the payment, and when is it due?

Registration will open November 17th at 12 PM EST! Registration fees will be no more than $145, but a specific cost will come with the registration date at a later time. Payment will be due within one week of registration. Details explaining how to register and who/how to send your registration check to will be laid out later. These will be found on the registration page.

Do I have to attend labs and lectures all day?

No you do not! There will also be a number of exhibitors the day of in the Penn Stater that you will be able to visit. They will be set up all day. 

What meals are provided?

On Friday, we will provide dinner. On Saturday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.
